The Doctors at First Eye specialize in state of the art cataract surgery to restore youthful vision and reduce the need for glasses. Utilizing a no-stitch procedure a sub 2.7 mm incision is made. The cataract is removed using ultrasound also called Phacoemulsification. Once the cataract material has been removed an intraocular lens (IOL) is folded and inserted through the original small incision. The procedure is performed as an out-patient.

Using the advanced technology of wavefront IOLs, astigmatism correcting lenses (Toric IOLs) and the concept of blended vision, a patients’ need for glasses and bifocals can be significantly reduced and even eliminated often with no additional costs beyond that of routine cataract surgery.

First Eye utilizes the latest technology and instrumentation to determine the best surgical approach for each patient including those who have had previous surgery such as Radial Keratomy and Lasik.
Toric IOL’s not completely covered by insurance.
