Our full service optical shop is staffed with friendly, certified opticians. In Nebraska & Iowa, licensure is not required and certification is voluntary. In some retail chain optical stores, an employee who was in the gardening department one day could be an optician the next. Anyone can be an optician, but not a certified optician. We are a proud to say that all of our opticians in both dispensaries are board certified by the American Board of Opticianry. ABO certification demonstrates that the optician is qualified and competent.

“In particular, it identifies the optician to the public as a dispenser who will handle the patient’s eye wear needs with competence – someone who can be trusted to provide the quality care they want and deserve.”
-American Board of Opticianry

Opticians are required to maintain their certification by attending continuing education seminars and training to learn the latest up-to-date skills, measuring techniques and advances in technology as well as the latest in eyewear trends.

We believe that your eyewear must fit your lifestyle. Whether you are a professional, working in an office and have to see work at various distances, or you are fishing enthusiasts with the need for polarized sun wear, or both. We can provide you with eye wear that is right for whatever your lifestyle may be. We can customize your eyeglasses to be made for you, your lifestyle and your prescription, while looking good too.

All glasses are not created equal. The optical quality of glasses varies depending on where they came from and what materials were used to make them. At Eye Essentials, you can be sure that you are purchasing a quality product. Since glasses are a part of your every day life, we know that accidents can happen. We stand behind you when these accidents happen and offer you a one year warranty on your frame and lenses at no additional cost.

Many doctors recommend anti-reflective/anti-glare coating to give you the sharpest, clearest vision possible by reducing or eliminating glare and reflection. We use top quality, hydrophobic coating that come with a two year warranty and significantly improve the look of your glasses.

We extend our care throughout the life of your glasses.
We offer:
-Free Cleanings
-Free Adjustments
-Free screw replacements
-Free nose pad replacements

Bruce Vaneske

Bruce Vaneske, Registered Contact Lens Technician has over 30 years of experience in fitting contact lenses. Bruce specializes in contact lenses and fits all lens types from conventional hard lenses to sophisticated bifocal contact lenses. He is well versed in astigmatic soft, multifocal extended wear and one-day throw away lenses, plus a wide variety of other specialty lenses. Bruce is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. He is also a Fellow of the Contact Lens Society of America. Bruce continues to learn about new lens technology to provide you with the best lenses for your prescription and lifestyle.

Nebraska & Iowa both have state regulations that require a contact lens patient to have specific contact lens services that are not performed during a regular eye examination by your ophthalmologist or optometrist. These services sometimes require separate, additional visits and several trials of lenses. A fitting fee is required at the beginning of the contact lens fitting process and a contact lens prescription will then be released at the completion of the process. There are several different variables (satisfaction with wearing, additional measurements taken, dryness, change in prescription or lifestyle etc.) that will dictate the cost of your contact lenses and fitting which Bruce would be more than happy to discuss with you. You will find that our prices on contact lenses are very competitive and experience in fitting is among the best in the industry.
